Holman Parts Distribution is in need of a Warehouseman in our Indianapolis warehouse who has to drive in and around Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a permanent part-time position. The job requires the ideal candidate be able to work in a warehouse to process used auto parts, load and unload trucks, pick and package outgoing orders Receive, put away stock, clean and maintain the warehouse. When driving, deliver automobile engines and transmissions to auto dealerships and fleet installers and retrieve used parts as needed. Non-CDL 16’ box trucks furnished and equipped with A/C and automatic transmission. No CDL is required. Must be able to pass a DOT physical. No experience required, we will train the ideal candidate who is willing to work hard, be dependable and wants to be part of a company who cares about their employees.

Warehouse Duties

  • Primary responsibility will be to process used auto parts
  • Able to operate a forklift

But may be required to perform any of the functions below

  • Stock incoming parts and return parts
  • Use hand held RF scanners for bar-coding on all incoming parts
  • Receive packing slips and verify quantities for parts against purchase orders
  • Responsible for the shipment of parts to customers
  • Gather and properly package inventory and purchased items for shipment
  • Keep work area clean and uncluttered
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Some heavy lifting required. Must be able to lift 50 to 70 lbs. without assistance and up to 100lbs with assistance

Driving duties

  • Off load and reload truck. Most heavy loading is performed with pallet jack and at times with a forklift.
  • Deliver auto parts, which includes engines/transmissions and misc. small parts. Must be able to lift 50 to 70 lbs without assistance and up to 100lbs with assistance
  • Expected to operate the truck in compliance with all state and federal safety and administrative requirements.
  • Willing and able to work safely at all times.
  • Able to load and unload onto a truck.
  • Requires work outside under varying weather conditions.
  • Candidates must have a good driving record
  • Perform Daily MVR Inspection
  • Check that load is secure
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
  • Oral communication and customer service skills, including the ability to read, write and speak English and be able to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Hours of shift: Start 8:00am to 2:00 pm, with some variance due to staffing

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent experience in warehousing or material handling.  Fork-lift experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read, write, and speak in English.  

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to perform basic math functions: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS:  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, inventory management systems and scanner systems.
