SUMMARY:

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will focus on qualifying and prospecting for new business. This position involves attending industry events, cold calling new potential clients, business referrals, and incoming sales leads. BDR will be knowledgeable on all ARI service offerings and be able to communicate value to prospective customers/clients, and support additional presentations as needed. Work with District Sales Managers on targeted projects and campaigns.  Must be energetic, well-spoken, and eager to progress opportunities through the pipeline that will enable our District Sales Managers to close sales and increase revenue.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Cold calling; making multiple outbound calls and emails to potential clients
  • Understanding company/client needs and offer solutions and support
  • Researching potential leads from business directories, web searches or digital resources
  • Qualifying leads from digital campaigns, conferences, references, tradeshows, etc.
  • Answering potential client questions and follow-up call questions.
  • Facilitate webcast for Safety, Telematics, ARI Insights, and other ARI services.
  • Working with sales team on targeting specific prospects, industries & programs and ultimately handing off lead
  • Tracking weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance and sales metrics
  • Building prospect pipelines and work with District Sales Managers to close sales
  • Maintaining database (Salesforce /Marketo) of prospective and client information
  • Attending trade shows and other industry-related events
  • Provide regularly scheduled reports to the VPs of Sales
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  None.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Comfortable making cold calls and talking to new people all day
  • Possesses an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor
  • Persuasive, self-motivated and self-directed with ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • In-depth understanding of ARI services and its position in the industry
  • Tenacity to handle rejection and continue on with a positive attitude when reaching next potential client
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Must have exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills. Prior experience in sales, business development, or account management.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect and interact with potential customers. Ability to read, write, and speak in English.  

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to perform basic math functions: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  

COMPUTER SKILLS:  Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Salesforce experience preferred

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to analyze information and draw logical conclusions.
