Relevant Work Experience:

  • Prior experience/forklift certifications in warehouse / materials environment desired.
  • Experience with wireless inventory system is desired
  • Experience with UPS or FedEx shipments is desired
  • Must pass a physical and criminal background check prior to employment.

Planning/Organizing/Managerial Knowledge:

  • Must be able to work in multiple environments – shop, outside in all types of weather conditions as well as in an office.
  • Familiarity with UPS/FedEx shipping systems.
  • Properly check-in and move vehicles being delivered.

  • Has a good attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize daily activities.
  • Must pass a physical, drug test, and criminal background check prior to employment.

  • Example: When picking an order, need to replenish the primary bin.  Find secondary location in the wireless management system and move the inventory into primary location.  When picking, encounter a part in the wrong location.  Physically move to the correct area and move verify electronically that the inventory is correct.

The problems encountered are dissimilar and typically have a number of solutions. The solutions may be derived from a general plan or a flexible routine may be utilized to solve problems of this type.

  • 10% of all problems: Damaged inventory
  • Example: When picking an order, find a damaged part in the stock location.  Consult with lead or supervisor for direction on who to correct or dispose of.

The problems encountered are unique situations and there is an unlimited number of solutions, many of which are unknown. There are no procedures or routines to follow, but only broad policies to guide the problem solving process.
