The Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting in the management of the financial and accounting functions, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, and other accounting functions. The Assistant Controller works with the Controller to oversee the functional aspects of the accounting systems for financial and accounting procedure, and develops, implements, and recommends policies and internal controls. Immediately supervises the office staff.


  • Responsible for the general ledger including reconciliation, recognition of issues, investigation and reporting to the Controller
  • Supervise annual, quarterly, and monthly budget preparation and reporting
  • Oversee general accounting office and immediate supervision of office employees
  • Develop, prepare, consolidate, and interpret accurate accounting and financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and conformance to financial policies
  • General understanding and knowledge of state and federal regulations as it relates to the business.
  • Supervise, develop and strengthen areas of accounting (accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable)
  • Collaborate with departments operationally and for accounting purposes.
  • Supports department goal of assuring compliance with internal controls and monitors compliance with various processes.
  • Take ownership of other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of general accounting principles in a corporate environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • Progressive general accounting knowledge, with budgeting and reporting experience.
  • High functioning ability in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience using accounting software.
  • Act upon performance information provided, coaching and guiding staff members to improve knowledge and skill where required.
