Job Description

Principal Purpose of Position:

  • Responsible for design, initial installation, configuration, daily operations, and user support of business intelligence environments for Tableau and Business Objects including DEV, QA Production, high availability and disaster recovery instances.
  • Responsible for maintaining, patching, and upgrading of Tableau and Business Objects environments.
  • Manages system security, user provisioning and license compliance within Tableau and Business Objects environments.
  • Provides support to end-users for application connectivity and product usage.
  • Monitors and tunes the Tableau system to ensure optimum level of performance.
  • Collects and analyzes system operational information for capacity and planning purposes.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate system documentation to ensure that the system is supportable by other team members.
  • Provides updates to our customers, business and staff on a timely basis for projects and tasks.
  • Works with the other members of the IM and infrastructure teams to support the system.
  • Must be able to translate end-user requirements into a logical system design per the software vendor’s configuration guidelines.
  • Must be effective at interacting with other IT teams such as infrastructure and DBA’s to translate logical design into physical implementations of the software in our environments.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks for projects as well as daily support requests/issues.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with both business and technical resources to understand and resolve issues as well as deliver projects.
  • Must have problem solving skills in relation to system operations as well as product usage
  • Must be self-sufficient in understanding and prioritizing tasks and issues.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 4+ years of benefits experience including at least two years in a Tableau Business Intelligence system admin role
  • Experienced in BI platform system administration on-premise in a Windows server environment version control, configuration management, tuning and troubleshooting along with direct user support,
  • Experienced running Tableau and/or Business Objects accessing Oracle and SQLServer. HANA is a plus but not required
  • Experience integrating Tableau/business objects with Active Directory

Education and/or Training:

  • Four year college degree in technology or demonstrated equivalent experience as a Tableau or Business Objects system administrator.
